I’m Calling the National Football League to Put Me in the Business
I remember sitting at the barbeshop and adding my two cents to the conversation about the National Football League coaches and players. Oh you know how people get in the barbershop, at work around the water cooler, when you have a spirited conversation going on about your favorite football team… “This player can’t play, this coach can’t coach, etc…” and this is how our conversation was going.
However when I returned back home, my internal conversation became much deeper than a spirited conversation with the guys at the barbershop, because after my career was over from playing Professional football, the talk from everyone was for me to go into coaching. I couldn’t see myself coaching however fast forward 25+ years later and now I find myself wanting to get into the business side of football.
From a recent visit to Washington D.C. and seeing one of my good friends that work for the Washington Redskins, ideas were confirmed in my head to start pursuing a career in football, particularly the National Football League.
As you can see in the photo, I have earned my Certification of Accomplishment from an 8 week long course in a Football General Manager/Scouting course mentored by the experts, Dr. Lynn Lashbrook, Mark Dominic, Russ Lande and the NFL “Godfather of Football” himself, John Wooten.
This is the completion of Phase 1 of 4 phases. I have the Super Bowl in Houston, TX lined up as well as the National Football League Combine held every year in Indianapolis, IN. After completion, I now clearly see the niche in the game that I love (football) that I feel my talents can serve the Player Development and Engagement side of the business to work with players when it comes to business, family and community relations.
