What… an Honorary Doctorate Degree for Me?

What… an Honorary Doctorate Degree for Me? God Never Ceases to Amaze Me!

Wow… God sure knows how to shock ya!

I am extremely grateful to be recommended with this honor and I can’t help but think of all of the people that has poured into me from Day 1.

How I want them to be proud of me and proud of the work I am blessed to do. I also try to be my family, friends and peers biggest cheerleader on their journey and I try to be at the ready to assist them when called upon.

As much as I try to inspire and help others, I must say that as I write this post, I can feel my shortcomings, my doubts, my issues, my flesh and failures boil up inside as I get ready to share this post with the world. I love encouraging others to share their  testimony, their story of overcoming the adversity on their road to winning.

As much as I like to hear and see these stories, we know that there is a faction of people that don’t want to see good news and many people will allow this to stop them in their tracks.

But haters will hate and the real will congratulate! Plus, I wouldn’t be operating on the strength that God has given me, the faith I have in Him and the experiences he have brought me through!

A Big Thanks and Appreciation goes out to Dr. Deborah Hopes for the recommendation and the Board of Trustees at Texas Bible Institute & Seminar for the approval and honor on this Honorary Doctorate Degree of Humanities.

Also thanks to Dr. Hopes for the message of ” I See You” when it comes to doing the work and serving others. As much as I say this affirming statement, “I See You” to others, now I understand even more of the impact that words have on people and I will continue on my journey of leading, serving and inspiring in a way that is pleasing in God’s sight.

Thank you to my wife, my kids and family for putting up with all of my rough edges and “old school” attitude, to make sure that I’m somewhat polished when I leave the house and be in the presence of others.

As friendly and optimistic as I try to be, I still have to remember to smile every chance I get and not keep the game-face on. That game-face is a state of mind that I am in, when it comes seeing challenges and issues on a daily basis and I feel there may be some opportunities to get involved and add some value and benefits to it.

To all of the other honorees, keep doing the work that God has purposed in your heart to share with the world and never be afraid to let others know that it’s God who gets the glory!
The Best is Yet to Come!
