3 Lessons from Diana Nyad that You Can Apply in Your Business
Who is Diana Nyad you ask?
If you have been watching any of the new channels the last few days, I’m sure you heard about the world record that long-time swimmer Diana Nyad just broke, by swimming from Cuba to Key West Florida without a shark tank. This was her 5th attempt and her first was 35 years ago! The video below captures the moment she landed ashore which is amazing:
What you don’t see in that video is what happened in her interview afterwards when she was asked if she wanted to say anything about her accomplishment.

1. We should never ever give up.
2. You are never too old to chase your dreams.
3. It looks like an individual sport but it really is a team effort.
Powerful statements about ACHIEVING the goal(s) that you have in life.
Here is how it applies to those of you who want to start a home business.
1. Never Ever Give Up – This point seams pretty obvious but is probably the one that most people fail at in a home business. Many people don’t treat their home business like a real business and don’t realize that it takes work, time and commitment to have true success. Trying something for a few weeks or even a few months doesn’t cut it. If you want true success you need to be in for the long run. Through the good times and bad.
2. You are never too old to chase your dreams – You see this point will get you through the problem of #1…..quitting. If you focus on your dreams and why you are doing your home business in the first place your chance of success are high. And Diana is 100% right. At 64 she never gave up and did something that most people would not think was possible…but she did! That’s all the matters. Don’t let age EVER get in your way.
3. It’s NOT an individual sport – It’s almost impossible to grow a home business 100% on your own. Yes at the end of the day it’s up to YOU to make it happen but you can and should leverage the power of others to help you grow, learn and succeed.
Such an inspiring story with some gold nuggets from her great feat. Now this is a call to action for all of us to get with it and let’s start accomplishing our dreams and goals no matter what.
