What Happen to those Glory Days?
Wow, here I am at 3am working on an animation project using digital avatars and cartoons and in my research, I came across something that totally caught me by surprise.
There was this football gaming project being designed on a well known gaming platform and the designer was using a few selected guys from both the NFL and World League of American Football back in 1992 and I was included in it. To see myself as a digital avatar for the very first time with a platform that I have never seen, heard or known about until now, was mind blowing to say the least.
I reviewed all of the other athletes I knew and made sure to snap their photo up and share with them as well. We were all blessed to play a game that we loved from childhood and it was so cool to see a few of our avatars being displayed on this project. However, I couldn’t help but wonder what the avatars of these guys would look like almost 30 years later in the current role that they play in life with their homes, jobs and communities they play a part in today.
After the final countdown on the clock to display that the game is over, we have guys that have found another purpose to use their talents on to make impact and influence in other fields of endeavor. We also have droves of athletes that are still trying to find their way long after the final game was played.
They find it all too comfortable to sit the next play of life out and stay on the proverbial sidelines watching their time and talents wander away. Over the past 10 years, I have had the chance to learn and earn from an online business model that has allowed me to use my talents and build something that can afford me both time and financial opportunities to explore.
