No TV for Me Week Two!
Does TV Even Exists?
Week 2 with no tv has come and gone and it was a nice feeling to know that I didn’t miss it as much as I thought I would. According to all of the social media posts and comments, it was not much going on in the news either. One thing I realize that caught me off guard, was that it’s easy to allow other non-productive things come in that space and distract you from what’s productive.
So if you are taking yourself away from tv for awhile, be prepared for something unexpected coming in to fill up that time. I know without a shadow of doubt that this journey without tv will allow me to grow and get better not only as a business man, but also as a father and husband.
I also noticed that if I am in the room and the family and I are having a conversation, the tv is not on or we turn it off. I realize that even though you may not be watching a particular tv show, a person can get used to having it on in the background and this plays into your subconscious mind. Having some sort of noise playing in the background, never getting used to the room in silence mode. The phrase “Silence is Golden” is true especially when you know what to do with silence; get clear and calm, listen to your yourself breathe, try to see how much you can hear, searching for the faintest of sounds. These are simple activities yet, are truly Golden.
Well here we are on to week 3 and this week’s goal is to be more focus and productive as we inch closer and closer to the goal.
