My Parents – Celebrating a Friend’s Life Part One
This weekend was supposed to last on 1- 1/2 day at the most with all of the travel and meetings that I had going on. I went to visit my parents and also made a drive to my university to visit with the staff, coaches, and friends.
On my return home, I had an outing scheduled with my Mom to take her to a Birthday celebration for one of her favorite friends, Mrs. Annie Nobles. Mom has been dealing with a few leg pains and issues and I knew she would give me a hard time about dressing up to go.
The statement that really pulled at her heartstrings was one of giving people their flowers while they are due, while they are still here with us. I mentioned to her that if this was a funeral, she would dress up and do her best to pay her respects however like a thought that comes to mind most of the time, “Well, I will see them the next time or they’ll probably have another get together soon and I’ll catch them at the next one.
No excuses, let’s get dressed and enjoy our date!
As you can see in the photo, we enjoyed an awesome time being there and she couldn’t stop talking about her date with me and our friends. People and relationships are two key components that make life worth living.
