The words in this photo says alot. There are some people that catch on with their purpose and mission in life seemingly as soon as they come out of the womb. Well, maybe not that early but they have it figured out pretty early in life.

Then you have many others that either gets it after a series of life experiences or may not get it at all. For those like myself that that got it after a series of life experiences, once we felt it we took off running with it.

I am here to share that if you are still struggling with what you want or how can you plan a way to get it, then I will encourage you to keep seeking it. Talk to people that may be doing a similar thing that you want to do or maybe someone that displays a passion or skill for a certain thing and they inspire you to pursue your purpose.

Whatever it is, don’t give in to the endless pressure of doing a thing. Don’t give up on the idea that maybe, just maybe you don’t have what it takes to complete the journey. Remember this, you do!

Here’s a great read, Three Feet from Gold,that I like to refer back to from time to time when I find myself on the search for my “Purpose Gold” mission. This read is one that will take you on a journey and will show you a few similarities in the main character as you see in yourself.

I Wonder if this Will Turn Into My Own Reality Show?

Wow! I made it to the end of Week One with no TV on to watch. I have made up my mind that I am going on a self imposed TV exile until I accomplish a personal income goal in one of my business ventures. This goal has been alluding me for several months now and I must get out of that particular comfort zone and make it happen!

What led me to this No TV Idea you ask?

My oldest daughter, Lauryn, was playing a game on my cell phone and I noticed after a few days that the game was becoming a big distraction from her completing her book reading in the summer reading program. So my form of disciplining her was to remove the phone and make the game a reward for her after she completes her book reading.

Then I thought about my work and this particular income goal that I want to attain in one of my business ventures. It seems like I get 3 Feet from Gold and then get distracted with other business and personal tasks that take my focus away from achieving the goal.

I don’t watch much television however I am a big movie guy and love watching replays of movies such as, The Godfather, Man on Fire, Heat, Rocky III, and many more!

When I decided to do this, I didn’t realize at the time that the Season Premier of my favorite television show, Suits, was on this week and plus the NFL football season is just around the corner.

What was I thinking?

Shall I say “Sense of Urgency” is an understatement, let’s call it a “Sense of Emergency” is in full effect!

Yes, there were a few news stories that I wanted to check out however I’m thankful for all of the Social Media platforms out here that keeps me updated by the minute when I need to know what’s going on.

As far as my goal is concerned, I did moved the meter a few inches toward however I must admit, I got to put the medal to the pedal if I want to watch a few games before the playoffs, lol! It’s only been week one and it was easier than I originally thought it would be, however keep in mind, it is only week one!

Well, I am firm with this commitment to my goal and guess what will be my reward for the achievement? I will catch up on my Suits television replays however instead of watching the football games on TV, how could will it be to travel with the family or some buddies and take in the games live and up close and personal. This is on my bucket list and is one of the main reasons I’m doing this.

Are You Suffering through Mental Block and Uncreative Thoughts and Ideas?

I am still recovering from traveling and a couple of speaking engagements and now I find myself feeling uncreative when it comes to my business activities. I tried my old routine of plowing through the feeling to get things done however I am a little clogged with meshing my thoughts and ideas to my current actions.

When this happens it usually means that I am growing to another level and need more inspiration.What should I do… pick up a book that will challenge me and get my creative juices back flowing again. To my surprise, guess what book I picked up, that has some golden bars of wisdom and tips for ambitious people like you and me;

The book titled The 50th Law by rapper turned businessman, 50 Cent and noted author of The 48 Laws of Power, Robert Greene. 

In chapter 9 of The 50th Law – Sub-section “Subvert Your Patterns” – this hit like a ton of bricks for me where it talks about what I am feeling right now and so are many others on their entrepreneurial journey.

It reads that, “What often prevent us from using the mental fluidity and freedom
that we naturally possess are the physical routines in our lives. We see the same people and do the same things, and our minds follow these patterns.

By taking an action we have never done before, we place ourselves in unfamiliar territory-our minds naturally awaken to the novel situation. In a similar vein, we can force ourselves to take different routes, visit strange places, encounter different people, wake up at odd hours, or read books that challenge our minds instead of dull them.

We should practice this when we feel particularly blocked and uncreative. In such moments, it is best to be  ruthless with ourselves and our patterns.”

That’s it! I am already getting inspired just from reading this book plus this Monster energy ultra blue drink is helping too, however, I will also get started with placing myself in more unfamiliar territory to get the blood flowing even more and taking different routes along the way.
