Dr. Opal Lee affectionately known as the “Grandmother of Juneteenth”.
Opal Lee is an American retired teacher, counselor, and activist in the movement to make Juneteenth a federally-recognized holiday. On June 17, 2021, President Joe Biden signed Senate Bill S. 475, making Juneteenth the eleventh federal holiday.
Also great to see the BSPNTX Board members and my BBB Brother, Larry Lundy get blessed with some BSPNTX custom designer shoes from one of the honorees, Ms. Akellia Stewart CEO of Customs by AK.
